Travel news for our favorite travelers.
Greetings, Travel Tip-Seekers!
Here are this week’s tips curated for you from our reliable sources in the travel industry and from general interest newsletters, websites, and publications.
Keep it In Your Pants…Or Purse

One more thing your smart phone can do for you.
Your wallet, that is. You won’t need your billfold to show your driver’s license to TSA because now you can add it to your digital wallet. Here’s how to do it on an iPhone.
Android’s had this feature for a while, but in case you haven’t done it yet, here’s how.
Business Classy

BeOnd in the Maldives.
Starting next year (and not a moment too soon) BeOnd Airlines in partnership with New Pacific, will provide all business class planes from the U.S.
I can’t wait to see if they add Tokyo to their list of destinations!
The U.S. gateway cities haven’t been chosen yet—still pending approval by U.S. government—and currently the airline only serves a few cities but a sample fare from Zurich to Dubai is $1241 roundtrip. They also fly to/from Munich, Milan and the Maldives.

Yes, wiping down your tray table is a good idea.
Congested airports, crowded gates, claustrophobic jetways, and close quarters on planes can all be vectors for viral infection. Does that mean you shouldn’t fly anywhere? Hell no! Just be smart about it. (Hint: window seats are more germ free than aisle seats.)
If you’re one of those women who wipes down every surface: tray table, seat belt buckle, air vents, etc. you’re probably reducing your risk of infection so ignore the stares and wipe away!
And a Shopper’s Paradise!

One of the best museum gift stores in the country. Can you guess where?
You don’t have to get on a plane to buy some of the coolest holiday gifts in the world. Museum stores are a rich shopping experience. At the start of every trip, Jeannie Ralston likes to welcome travelers with a gift and she says she finds the most unique items at the local museum shop in any destination. Afar Media has curated a great list of some of the best museum gift shops. But even if a museum near you isn’t on this list, it’s a great place for holiday shopping.
And if you’re looking for gifts for a favorite traveler (or yourself) you could shop Jeannie Ralston’s favorite things.
How to Choose a Tour if You’re a Solo Traveler

Not all who wander are lost! Our intrepid travelers know this.
More than half the women who travel with us come alone, not with a friend or travel buddy. We love our solo travelers!
A couple of months ago we started partnering with Solo Traveler World, a women-owned company with a lot of good resources for solo travelers, like this article: How to Choose a Tour for Solo Travelers.
Don’t Toss Those Leftover Potatoes!

Potato heaven!
On a small island off of Chilean Patagonia they’ve been growing potatoes for centuries. Millennia, even. And there’s an agritourism farm there where you can not only eat them, you can nourish your skin and have a cocktail made from them! Don’t believe me? Here’s a recipe for the cocktail. And as for that facial? Apparently it’s a thing.
Enjoy the journey!
