Travel Tips Tuesdays: Don't Get Left Behind
The 5 Habits of Super Agers and why these will improve your travel.

Travel news for our favorite travelers.
Greetings, Travel Tip-Seekers!
Here are this week’s tips curated for you from our reliable sources in the travel industry and from general interest newsletters, websites, and publications.
So You Like Libraries? How About Museums?

Run for the Roses!
Whenever you travel without us, do you go to museums? Yeah we know the Smithsonian museums. They’re really cool and they’re free. But have you ever been to the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, the Birmingham Art Museum, or the Kentucky Derby Museum? Here’s a list of the 51 Best Museums in the US according to Condé Nast Traveler. We think this is a pretty good list, but is there one you think the article missed? Reply to this email and let us know!
TSA Says OK to Carry On Antlers. And a Waffle Iron

You can, but really, why would you want to?
You have to wonder whose job it is to compile these lists. And they get updated on the regular so if you have any doubts, it’s a good idea to check this website. It’s really long, but it’s searchable. One area of confusion for travelers (including me): lithium ion batteries.
Agentic ai and the Future of Travel

Coming for my job??
Call us crazy, but we just don’t think robots are coming for our jobs here at NextTribe. Although we offer online booking, we spend a lot of time on the phone, email and WhatsApp with our travelers and we really enjoy providing a personal touch. But in the near future (probably the next 12 months) agentic ai is going to make it easier than ever for you, the traveler, to book exactly the kind of trip you want: by price, destination, by type of experience, fitness level, climate, amenities, discounts, and a million other parameters. We think our trips and the types of travelers we attract are hard to replicate. The companies that are really going to be threatened are the OTA’s (online travel agencies) like Expedia. Why would you use their search bar when you can use ai to find you a hotel, a car, a local hairdresser, anything you need at your destination?
You Don’t Want to Be Left Behind, Do You?

Travel for many more years…please!
There’s so much in life that we can’t control. The weather. Airplane mechanical problems. The genes we inherited from our parents. Whoa! Where did that come from? Actually if you want to travel, being mobile, and preferably healthy is really, really important. And being mentally sharp makes you a better traveler, and travel companion. But does getting older mean giving up your dreams of seeing the world? Well, a lot of that is up to you. Here are 5 habits of Super Agers you can start right now.
Did You Know Rick Steves Was a Hippie?

Is that lingerie behind him? Hmmm!
I just found that out. He looks so dorky now, and he’s probably most famous for his bland PBS travel shows shot in Europe. But he started out as a backpacker and got himself into some crazy situations as a hostel-hopper. He’s learned a thing or two after decades on the road and his travel tips page has some good suggestions.
Traveling to Europe Soon?

We’ll still stamp your NextTribe passport.
We previewed this a few months ago, and now it begins. Starting next week (October 12) European countries will begin phasing in an “automated IT system” using biometrics to identify tourists and “short-stay” visa holders. No more passport stamps. Instead, Big Brother wants your fingerprints. You can read all about it here.
Correction/Clarification

One of my favorite things: When someone proves she reads the newsletter by responding to it with a comment!
We need to clarify something. In the last TTT newsletter, we wrote about how Europe is taking care of its airline passengers with Passengers Rights Regulations. I had written that it didn’t apply to US airlines. But NextTribe member and frequent traveler Eleanor Hille, who lives in Luxembourg and keeps an eye on these things, pointed out that it DOES apply to US airlines departing Europe. So duh, of course if you go to Europe you’re coming back, unless you intend to live there as Eleanor does. So here’s hoping you don’t have delays but if you do, tell them Eleanor sent you!
