NextTribe: New bucket list trip open
Plus, a Cuba Info Session and Petsitting as a Travel Option

Travel news for our favorite travelers.
Hi! Jeannie Edmunds here.
You know what creates happiness in 97 percent of people in a recent survey: planning travel.
That’s according to Michelle Gielan, a positive psychology researcher and bestselling author, who runs a company called The Institute for Applied Positive Research. A former network TV news anchor, Michelle says she is now dedicated to helping people “leverage the science of happiness” to create positive change in themselves, and in the world.
Well, then when it comes to happiness, we’ve got you covered.
Our bucket list trip to Morocco was released to NextTribe members last week and it’s already more than half full! Now we’re opening it to all our subscribers. Early bird pricing ends this Saturday at midnight ET.
Not for you? Maybe one of our other trips will look good on you!
HOUSESITTING IN HEAVEN
This week I’m writing to you from a beautiful house in Princeville, Kauai where I’m dog sitting for a friend of a friend. Here’s the view from the kitchen window.

My husband, Dave, trying to decide whether to nap, go to the beach, or both!
Housesitting and pet sitting have been a fun way for us to check out new places as we try to decide where to put down roots. We’ve taken care of dogs in Santa Fe and Los Altos, California, through a platform called Trusted Housesitters, which has hundreds of pet owners (and thousands of pet sitters) around the world.
Lots of people use this platform to find people to take care of their pets while they travel. Our “host” in Los Altos told us she had saved $20K in boarding fees by finding sitters on this platform!

Bodhi, the sweetest dog on all of Kauai.
No money changes hands, and each pet parent has different expectations for pet care, but we have stayed in some gorgeous homes and loved up some wonderful pets using this platform. Highly recommended.
TRAVELING WITH SERVICE ANIMALS
Sometimes the rules around certifying and traveling with service animals can be so confusing. One Canadian family whose son’s service dog helped him regulate his emotions had to leave the dog behind because WestJet wasn’t clear in their expectations.
AWARD-WORTHY AIRLINE SAFETY VIDEOS
Richard Branson hired director John Chu and his League of Extraordinary Dancers (LXD) to break the mold on those stuffy airline safety videos. It generated tons of free publicity for Virgin Atlantic (and Virgin America, RIP). Hawaiian Airlines still sets the bar high with their aloha theme. A hat tip to United for their latest addition to the oeuvre. Here’s a look behind the scenes at how they did it.
Mahalo for reading this!
