New trips! Troncones, Charleston & Asheville

Mars here!
It’s festival season in my neck of the woods. The Texas Book Festival, art studio tours, music festivals, and the annual Airing of the Quilts in my tiny town. Everyone feels invigorated with the cool, crisp temperatures.
NextTribe women love having lots to do, as evidenced by everything our local chapters have going on.
New York
We had a full house on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to celebrate the publication of Nina Burleigh’s novel Zero Visibility Possible. Nina, a veteran political journalist and long-time friend of NextTribe founder Jeannie Ralston, has written a dark satire about American violence, media and the lure of conspiracy thinking. Sort of captures the zeitgeist.
Host Caytha Jentis and fellow NextTriber Laura Ross are working hard to create an active NextTribe group in NYC. They well be putting together a WhatsApp group so that New Yorkers can stay in touch about events and gatherings. If you live in the New York area, and want to be involved, send your info to [email protected] and we’ll forward it to Caytha and Laura.

Austin

Taking the Cap Metro Red Line downtown to Plaza Saltillo
Austin isn’t exactly known for it’s public transit options, but we’re going to pretend we live in a city that does. Join us on the Red Line light rail, or meet us on the east side for Cawfee Tawk Thurs Nov 21. Cosmic Cafe at Plaza Saltillo.
Houston

Who doesn’t love a good Sunday Brunch? Thanks, Katherine Adams for organizing your Houston gals for a gathering at Grangers. And happy birthday!
Anyone want to drive to Galveston for the annual Dickens on the Strand? Nothing will get you more in the holiday spirit than this much-loved Island tradition.
The Houston gals, and any other Texan who’d like to join, will be meeting Saturday December 7th.
If you’re interested, please email Houston chapter coordinator Katherine Adams at [email protected]
San Antonio
For our December gathering we will visit Illuminate, the holiday light festival at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, December 4. We’ll meet at the front gate at 6:45pm. Buy your tickets for the 7:00-7:30 time window.
Scottsdale
The Scottsdale NextTribers have a pre-holiday Happy Hour on the books. Come join them at Sorso Wine Room on Thursday December 12 at 5 pm. Please RSVP via Eventbrite.
I’d love to help YOU plan your local NextTribe group get-together. I can create graphics and help promote your events through Tribe Social and in my Members newsletter.
LET’S GET BUSY!

Three new trips in 2025!
My very first trip with NextTribe was to Playa Troncones, Mexico. I think I was lured with the idea of saving baby sea turtles (my spirit animal!) or the idyllic ocean-side setting for daily yoga and meditation. I just adored the small village, and the intimate pool-side palapas.
I had a delightful time in Asheville this past April. Jeannie Ralston loves to share historic and picturesque Appalachia, especially her new hometown of Asheville. Springtime was so gorgeous there. I’ll never forget the heady, heavenly scent of wisteria in the gardens of The Biltmore!
