NextTribe | Member News: No Fools Here

Earlybird pricing on a new trip for members only! 🧳 ✈️

Mars here! So much craziness in the world, April Fools Day seems like every day! But we’re excited to announce that we have new leaders for local groups. Brandi Andrade has agreed to take the helm at organizing the Asheville group, and she’s planned a happy hour (details below) during the Insider Tour of Asheville later this month.

Jennifer Miller has created a new LA WhatsApp group, so if you have friends in that city, please direct them to us!

We’re in talks to find an organizer for our Chicago group.

If any of you are interested in getting a group organized in your city, shoot me an email, and we’ll help get it started. [email protected]

Asheville

There’s an upcoming “Insider Asheville Weekend” in late April, and Jeannie wants the local Tribe to meet the travelers! Help her raise a glass at her favorite bookstore/champagne bar, Battery Park! Come join the gals on Friday, April 25th, at 5:30 pm. 🍾 đŸĽ‚

New York City

Tomorrow! Caytha Jentis says, “Our next New York Next Tribe event will be going to the aerial/circus cabaret show that I'm performing in and co-producing, Let Them Eat Cake, a monthly show at the Slipper Room.

The event celebrates performers over the age of 50. Our lineup includes three of us in our sixties and a 70-year-old contortionist! ”

Defying age and gravity, this electrifying night of aerial and circus arts showcases the raw power, grace, and sensuality of performers over 50. Watch as seasoned pros and daring amateurs shatter myths and ignite the stage with breathtaking feats.

Buy your tickets on the Slipper Room’s website! and also RSVP on Eventbrite so we know you’re coming. We’ll meet for a quick bite ahead of time.

Austin

Cawfee Tawk this Thursday, April 3rd! I’m going to catch the red line train and meet y’all at Cosmic Cafe at Saltillo Plaza. ☕ Come join me, Austinites!

Last weekend’s Sunday Salon on Couture Resale was one for the books. Check out our little video, and watch for the Resale Style show “walk off” at the end!

Thanks to Nancy Goedeke and Jennifer Miller for sharing their expertise and all their great tips. If you’re interested in a PDF of local (and online) resources, it’s posted in the Austin WhatsApp group chat.

Our April Sunday Salon will be a new experience! Our friend Sonya Feher has introduced us to a practitioner she really loves. Colleen Roundhill has practiced Meditation since 2003 and will be guiding us in a session at the Austin Shambhala Center. “In the Shambhala tradition, meditation practice offers a pathway to connect to our innate dignity, kindness, wisdom, and strength—and apply them on a journey of personal, cultural, and societal transformation.” Please RSVP via Eventbrite.

Please RSVP at Eventbrite so we know you’re coming.

Austin members had a marvelous time at the Llano Earth Arts Festival, aka LEAF, led by former Llano local Jeannie Edmunds. Artists from around the globe created art from sand, rocks, leaves, and other flora and fauna. (I saw one made out of fish skeletons!) And they host the world championship of rock stacking!

Houston

Have you herd? The Elephants are coming to Houston!

The Great Elephant Migration, an “awe-inspiring outdoor art installation,” will be making its way to Hermann Park in Houston in April 2025. Learn more on the elephant’s website. All funds raised will be directed to projects that protect biodiversity and enable people and wildlife to share space.

Houston group leader Katherine Adams is planning to have everyone meet Thursday, April 17, at 10:30 am at the gates. Please message her in the Houston WhatsApp group to RSVP.

Katherine recently organized a fun outing to the Houston Farmers Market, and Sunny Flea Market, followed by lunch.

San Antonio

Last week Lucie Frost hosted a Morning Coffee for the San Antonio NextTribe group.

And heads up, the upcoming artist talk with her mom, a collector and leading authority on Mexican decorative arts, Susan Toomey Frost is officially sold out, but they’re keeping a waitlist. Lunch at La Fonda after. If you’re interested, please text her or message her via WhatsApp.

WAIT LIST in effect

Phoenix

Jeannie Edmunds is coming to PHX! She’d love to see all the Southwest US travelers at a reunion happy hour on April 23rd at Culinary Dropout in The Yard. Mark your calendars and please RSVP through Eventbrite.

Trip Preview This Week

"This trip celebrates the culture, the history, the food and wine and the people of the country. We floated on riverboats which gives you a wide angle view of the port city. We walked on cobblestone streets, and ate in old parts of town. One day, we were taught how to paint tiles in a lovely little garden by two sweet sisters. The winery days made me feel like I was a millionaire. I didn’t know what to expect from this trip but it was my favorite trip to date and I’ve been on some amazing trips."
