Adventure Time! Join us for a Cool Time in Colorado or Seattle.

Mars here. When you come home from one of those fabulous NextTribe trips…how do you handle it? Do you feel a big letdown with your “real life”? Do you book another trip and chase that travel high? Ummmm, yes, please!

(If you’re looking for relief from the heat wave, jump on our Colorado Rocky Mountain adventure before bookings close. Imagine a cooling white water rafting excursion instead of sweating from a mere walk to the mailbox.)

Luckily for the recent Austinites who came home from Umbria, our pal Debra Salge invited us to her fabulous house for a Travelers Reunion. I wore one of the lovely Italian linen shirts I bought there, and we shared stories along with our shopping treasures. So great to have others to help share the memories!

Mars, Debra, Vanessa, Beth, Carolyn, and Valerie shared a lovely lunch recently!

Check out everything going on all around the NextTribe community:

Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ

Houston chapter leaders Katherine (on the left) had a gal’s gathering/pool party in Phoenix with local leader Delcy! (on the right)

Salt Lake City, UT

I’ve never been to Salt Lake City before, but this week I’m going to be there to hang out with my sister Melissa and our cousin Flossie Givens, who lives nearby. We’re meeting Salt Lake NextTribe traveler Sandy Herman for lunch.

If you know a woman our age who loves adventure and lives near Salt Lake City, forward this email to her: We’d love to meet her too!

Seattle, WA

Darlene Bakes and Connie Wibley are planning something for July for the Seattle chapter. Keep your eyes open for upcoming Seattle Shenanigans! I’m excited to meet both of them when I head to Seattle on our NextTribe trip there Aug. 22-25. There are 2 spots left on the trip. Who’s in?

Asheville, NC

A minor league baseball game. A visit to a renowned regional theater in Abingdon, Va. A foraging adventure in the woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains. These are some of the events the Asheville NextTribe group is planning for the summer.

Meanwhile, six Asheville members keep up the NextTribe spirit by meeting for regular sessions of Spite and Malice card games (which they cheekily refer to as their S&M club). The women learned the game while at our Beach Retreat last March—along with all the other attendees from across the country—and love hanging on to the fun and camaraderie of that trip.

The Asheville S&M club. Six busy women—including founder Jeannie Ralston—somehow synch their schedules every month for some spirited card games.

Houston, TX

On Saturday, June 21st, the Houston group lunched at Local Pho, and then visited Third Saturday Open Art Studios at Sawyer Yards.

Austin, TX

TODAY Tuesday June 24th, Austin Nexttribers are staycationing at the Swim Club at Downright Austin hotel. Thanks to Vanessa Sinclair for organizing. Day passes (parking included) are available on the Resort Pass App. Message Vanessa on WhatsApp/Austin if you’d like to join us.

Movie matinee this Wednesday June 25 at Violet Crown Cinema in downtown Austin. Sitting in a cool, dark movie theater with a tub of popcorn and a cold cocktail is my idea of heaven. And I’m not immune to the appeal of a good rom-com, especially one that features my fantasy man, Pedro Pascal. Facebook event here: It’s also posted on our Austin WhatsApp chat. Listen to this great interview with director Celine Song by the New York Times/Modern Love. (I really loved her previous film, Past Lives.)

Our next Cawfee Tawk is Thursday, July 3. Because I’m traveling, I’m pushing this back one week. Paperboy is a brand new cafe on S. Lamar for us to check out!

Austinites had a recent Mahjong lesson from Vanessa Sinclair

Austin NextTribers are always on the hunt for cafes with LOOONNNG tables for our Cawfee Tawks!

SAVE THE DATE for July 13th for a Sunday Pool Party hosted by Nancy Goedeke.

Please note: our Sunday Salon series is on a summer hiatus, but we’ll pick back up in the Fall. If you have any great women you know who would be an interesting presenter for us, please reach out to Nancy Goedeke!

I love to brainstorm about any type of meet up, coffee, happy hour, movies, book events, games night, or an art tour. If you’re interested in getting a group organized in your city, shoot me an email, and I’ll help get it started.

Those who run our city groups get bumped up to Lifetime Member, with all those perks. Reach out to me at [email protected].

And remember, do an email search for Jennifer Miller’s invitation to join our WhatsApp community. You’ll find local WhatsApp groups in other cities. And this summer when you’re traveling to another city, maybe you too can connect with a local NextTriber!

Life’s more fun with friends!
