Upcoming NextTribe Trips

Just Released to Members:

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL ON MOROCCO: Prices increase on June 15th

Trip will be released to the public on Monday, June 10th

Just a quick note about NextTribe trips—from someone who has experienced a few as a guest—the Santa Fe in September experience should be absolutely amazing. I was lucky enough to join Jeannie R. and the rest of the NextTribers on that same visit last September. It was extraordinary: Georgia O’Keeffe’s private home and studio, Ghost Ranch, walking tours, a sunset hike and mountaintop picnic, fun train ride/spontaneous onboard dance party and more!

I was also delighted to find myself in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville in April. I can see why Jeannie calls it home now! What a beautiful, artistic, eclectic city. The Asheville adventure is being offered again, this time in October for fall leaf season!

Local Events: Cha-cha-cha-changes!

As some of you are aware, recently the Jeannies have invited me to be Manager, Local Communities for NextTribe. Most of you know me as the Austin NextTribe Community leader, and while I’ll continue doing that, I’m asking for local members to step forward to lead Austin events, and y’all have started doing that!

Nancy Goedeke has been facilitating the Austin Sunday Salons, and they are always interesting and very well attended.

Other Austin NextTribers have started organizing local happy hours, dance parties and other gatherings. Because we have so many creative women in our midst, we often like to visit galleries, museums and artist’s talks. More of that, please!

Our bi-weekly Cawfee Tawks are in different zip codes, in cafes all over the city. These give us a change to explore different neighborhoods and check out new (and old!) favorites. This is a perfect time to bring a friend, and for new members to introduce themselves for a fun, casual, table-hoppin’ time!

Any idea you have, something that sounds fun, let me know and together we can make it happen. I can help by creating graphics, and Eventbrite link (if needed) and promote it on our social channels.

Some of the groups on TribeSocial. Plus, so many others.

That brings up Tribe Social. I’m recommitted to being active on this platform, and posting events as they are created.

Please join me on Tribe Social. We’ll make sure there are active groups in the cities where several of you live. Let me know if you don’t see your city group on there, and I’ll help you create one.

If you haven’t set up your Tribe Social account yet, you just set up a username and password and you’re in! You have to use the email address you used to sign up for membership or it won’t recognize you! You can check your membership status, upgrade to Lifetime if you’d like, and edit/change which credit card you use. Eventually, you’ll be able to see your trips on there, too, but not quite yet.

Logging in will also give you a chance to add a photo or avatar and join the party on TribeSocial. It’s all working now (finally!) and while there are a lot of conversations happening about our trips, there are also local communities set up in Groups. Play around with it, and feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you have questions or suggestions.

Austin

Austin is continuing the tradition of our twice-a-month coffee hangouts, plus other gatherings our local members organize. Stay abreast of these developments through the Austin group on TribeSocial. Yet another reason to set up your TribeSocial account!

New York

And as part of our New York trip, Jeannie Ralston has organized a few events for NextTribers in the area. For either of these events, use the code MEMBERAGEBOLDLY to save 15% on the already low ticket price.

First, on Saturday, June 8th, a lunch in a gorgeous West Village apartment with the sensational Jackie Northam, who has traveled the world reporting for NPR.

She’s also put together a second annual Age Boldly Show, Sunday, June 9th at 8PM. It features comedians and humorists and promises to exercise your laughing reflex.

Los Angeles

Our first Southern California Sunday Salon will be held in a private home in Thousand Oaks. Sunday, June 30 from 2-4PM. Guest Lesley Migdali, a licensed acupuncturist, will explain and demonstrate the Tapas acupressure technique, an energy healing modality that has helped with everything from IBS to sleep problems.

And we’re excited to announce that we’re co-sponsoring a Happy Women Dinner in Los Angeles on June 27. Two amazing women authors + dinner with cool NextTribe-y women. Only a few tickets remaining. See invite above and email [email protected] or [email protected] to register ASAP if you’d like to go.

Houston

SAVE THE DATE! Our friend Katherine Allen in Houston is working on a road trip to Galveston for both Houston and Austin members. This won’t be an official NextTribe trip. It’s a “road trip” where we’ll each make our own hotel reservations, and carpool with friends. Katherine will set up a happy hour so we can meet each other, as well as a Art Walk gallery hop and maybe even a reading by a local woman author. Stay tuned for details.

SAVE THE DATE for a Austin/Houston/Galveston Road Trip Oct 4-6.

I’ll be back in two weeks!

Marcellina Kampa
Manager, Local Communities

P.S. If you’d like to host a coffee, a Sunday Salon or another gathering in your area and you need some ideas, please email me: [email protected]

P.P.S. If you’re thinking about jumping on the Cuba trip, NextTribe is offering an early bird special till June 30th, when prices will go up by a few hundred dollars. Before that deadline, you’ll have a chance to learn all about what it takes to get to Cuba and why it’s so worth it.

Cuba Info Session is Wednesday June 12th at 6:30 pm ET. Someone on that Zoom call will win a $400 discount on the trip just for showing up.
