NextTribe | Age Boldly: Articles & Events

How travel makes menopause easier, and 3 new trips to test out that theory.

This week Jeannie Ralston was out partying yet again! (But we promise, she works just as hard as she plays.) She was propping up the local economy as she hosted another joyful happy hour in her hometown of Asheville, where she’s building a lovely community of NextTribe women.

Part of the group at a cool new bar in West Asheville, steps from Jeannie’s home.

Jeannie Edmunds has been enjoying “Fool’s Spring” in Austin, where temps have been in the 70s and low 80s.

But Austin is still a great place to live. Seriously!

Every morning she’s been taking “wonder walks” and practicing “extreme noticing,” a skill she learned from the designer of our creativity retreat in Greece this October. “Whether I vary my routes or not, I always find something delightful. Today I discovered tiny mosaics in the sidewalk on the way to the library, two blocks from my house. So charming!”

A series of these multiplication formulas dot the sidewalk along 5th Street, aka “The Hippie Highway.” This one says 9×5=45. During a “wonder walk” you open your aperture and look all around, up and down, often discovering something you never noticed before!

And an article from 2022 by “Original Jeannie,” about yet another benefit of getting older!

Happy trails!
