New trip open to Lifetime Members

An experience of awe and wonder unlike any other

Dear Lifetime Member,

This new trip has the potential to blow your mind. Not because of the destination (it’s Greece, so there’s that cerulean blue sea, wonderful food, friendly people).

And not because the island we’re going to was Sophia Loren’s “favorite place in the world.” It was a favorite of Jackie O, too.

A haven from the paparazzi for celebrities, an experience of natural beauty and wonder for you!

I think this trip has the potential to be life changing because it’s been designed to reawaken a sense of awe and wonder in each of the lucky 12-14 women who get to come with us.

 Hydra: It’s pronounced “EE-druh”

Unlike over-priced, over-touristed, and over-hyped Santorini and Mykonos, this little island has some magic that attracts artists and creatives from abroad and from within Greece. You’ll get to meet and learn from some of them during our week in this beautiful environment. And as with all NextTribe trips, you’ll be in the company of really cool women and in community with women who live there.

We’ll be on, in, and surrounded by water, clean air, and (at this time of year usually) blue skies.

No cars are allowed on Hydra. Locals get around mostly by walking, and by horse, mule, donkey, and water taxi. No motorcycles, no engines running, no honking horns. All of this contributes to a quieter, slower pace of life. A pace and place of renewal, wonder, and reflection.

And on this trip, you’ll indulge in the life of a full-time creative, which includes making things, being inspired by the things, people, and the nature around you, and reflecting on those things. And maybe on your life, too.

Maybe you’d like to try painting, maybe another art form or creative pursuit. A song, a poem, a collage, a pot. With Alexis inspiring and encouraging you, you will be amazed at what you can discover about the world and about yourself when you use your hands, and you’re in community with others.

Dates: October 4-11, 2025

🚨 Just a heads up: If you want to know more, we’ll have an Info Session soon. I wanted to get this out to you first so you can start planning…and dreaming!

Barb is a talented and experienced “experience designer” who cares deeply about uplifting women in our age group. She uses experiences of awe and wonder to ignite women’s passion and compassion for themselves, and for others. Photo: Meghan Godin

This is our first collaborative experience design with Barb Groth of the Nomadic School of Wonder. Barb was SVP of the immersive experiences known as Meow Wolf, which has expanded to Texas, Colorado, Nevada and California and started in Santa Fe. We tested a small part of our trip design one evening on the NextTribe Santa Fe trip this year, and the response indicates to us that women are craving this kind of fun and meaningful adventures in awe, “rooted in nature, art, community, and play.”

We are so fortunate to have Barb introduce us to Alexis, who helped us design the trip and will be your for the week.

The trip leader for the experience on Hydra will be Alexis Averbuck, an exhibiting artist and a resident of the island half the year. You can read more about how she was inspired to become an artist after spending a year in Antarctica. She’s lived and traveled all over the world (she once sailed across the Pacific) and is also the author of the Lonely Planet Guide to Greece.

The Roll Out

Of course, as Lifetime Members, you’re the first to know about this exciting new trip. Next week, we’ll notify other members that the trip is available. Then we’ll be opening bookings to the public. So if you’re interested, don’t hesitate.

Hugs and thanks to all of you—
