Our May Salon

The Rocking Rossi! Please come on May 18th

Hi all:

Here are some photos from our last Salon—a lively and important conversation with Sari Botton (middle photo, wearing glasses), the publisher of Oldster Magazine. We talked about all the emotions, set backs and triumphs that come with aging.

Our May Salon will be on a Saturday—we like to mix things up a bit! Lovely Laura Ross will be hosting the author and well-known caterer Rossi at her apartment in the financial district. Officially designated a “rebel” by The New York Times and “the wildest thing this side of the mason Dixon line” by Zagat, Rossi is releasing The Punk Rock Queen of the Jews, her outrageous, queer coming-of-age story.

There will be SO many great stories and lots to discuss.

Save the Dates

Mark June 8th and 9th on your calendar. That’s when NextTribers from different parts of the country will be coming to NYC for our Downtown Insiders Tour.

We’ll be opening at least 2 events up for a few New Yorkers to join us.

One will be lunch with NPR Correspondent Jackie Northam, who has seen a bit of everything—horrendous and wondrous—in her job covering wars, security and cultural issues. We’ll be releasing details about the lunch and a chance to buy tickets soon.

The other event is an Evening of Age Boldly Humor, featuring dear NextTriber Jenny Allen and her actor pals Eve Plumb (yes, that Eve Plumb) and Maddie Corman. The other part of the show will be Cynthia Kaplan (who was side-splitting funny in last year’s show) and her comedy partner Karen Bergreen.

We’ll be having our little show in the same cozy East Village theater where we all laughed together last year. Sunday, June 9th, starting at 8 pm.

All the details coming soon. Until then, here are a few photos from last year’s show.

Glamping Anyone? 1 spot left

As part of our Downtown NYC Insider Tour, we’re offering you to join us on Governor’s Island on Monday June 10th for a Glamping Adventure.

If you haven’t spent the night in the cushy tents with a view of the Lower Manhattan skyline AND the Statue of Liberty, you’re missing out on a quintessential NYC experience.

Hope to see you all soon.

Jeannie R.

P.S. Feel free to window shop with us for your 2024 (and a few 2025) trips.
