Loch Ness, The Whisky Lassie, and What’s Under that Kilt?
A wee preview of a new destination for NextTribe

Dearest Reader,
Even if you’ve never been to Scotland before, and even if it’s never interested you, we can guarantee that this newsletter will be “the mince to your tatties.” Look it up. It’s good!
First, charm. Is there anyone on the planet who isn’t thoroughly enchanted by the Scottish accent? Those long-haired cows, the kllts, the lovely countryside?
For armchair travelers, there’s Janet Siroto’s opinionated list of what to see and do there. It’s a virtual tour of some of the best that Scotland’s cities and the highlands have to offer.
For more inspo, you could read or watch the historical series Outlander on Amazon Prime, or check out the poetry of Kathleen Jamie, watch the documentary series Scotland; Escape to the Wilderness on Apple+, or listen to the haunting melodies of this Scottish ballad.
NextTribe has partnered with The Whisky Lassie to set up and help lead our trip to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Scottish Highlands in June. Oh you don’t drink whisky, even without the “e”? Maybe you just haven't had the good stuff yet.
At this writing, eight women have booked this trip so if you’re interested, check out the itinerary.
We love Scotland because it’s not hard to get around (they speak English, sort of!) the scenery is magical, the history, mystery and magic of the ruins, castles, art and music are enchanting.
Speaking of music, here’s a hauntingly beautiful music video of The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. If that doesn’t stir up some wanderlust, I don’t know what will!
On our Scotland trip, bring your binoculars because we’re going to Loch Ness. Maybe Nessie will pop her head up for your selfie. And you’ll get to know local women in Glasgow, Aberlour, and Edinburgh. Whisky tasting is just part of it, and if you don’t indulge, good on ya! There’ll be plenty of other stuff to do, and, news flash, excellent dining along the way. We’re told you MUST try the haggis once in your life, and we’re taking you to the best place in Scotland to try a fine version of it.
When the Queen of England could choose anywhere in the kingdom for her vacations, she chose Scotland, for good reason. One, she had a castle there, so, free place to stay. And two, it’s just so freaking beautiful!
Jeannie Ralston traveled here with her boys and fell in love with the people and the countryside. She wants to show it to you, and although she can’t go on all the trips, she won’t miss this one!
Any questions? Let me know. I’m happy to help.
So many good trips this year. I really hope you get to come on one of them.
As the locals would say,
Cheery bye!
Marcy
P.S It’s a myth that all Scots “go commando” in kilts. It’s optional!
