Dear Lifetime Member,
We're thrilled to offer you an exclusive first look at one of our most anticipated 2027 trips and we believe—like South Africa—this one will to fill up fast.
The Best of Spain: Barcelona and Andalusia
Where History Lives in Stone, Dish & Dance Moves!
Few countries pack as much beauty, history, and sensory pleasure into a single journey as Spain—and nowhere is that more true than in Barcelona and Andalusia. But here's the thing: we're not just taking you to see the famous sites. We're taking you inside the stories that shaped them, with a special focus on the women whose contributions have too often been written out of the official record.
Picture this: You're standing inside the Sagrada Familia at sunrise, where Gaudí's extraordinary vision comes alive in forests of stone columns and kaleidoscopic light through stained glass. Later, you're wandering the narrow lanes of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter with a local historian who reveals the nuns who ran hospitals, the merchants who financed empires, and the artists who worked in their husbands' names.
Then the scene shifts. A short flight south and you're in sun-drenched Andalusia, where everything operates at a different frequency altogether. Seville is operatic and alive—a city of orange trees and tile-adorned courtyards where the sound of castanets drifts through open windows.
You'll stir a proper paella in a cooking class, pressing saffron into rice until you get that coveted socarrat (the crispy bottom layer that tells you it's perfect). You'll paint your own azulejo tile to take home, learning the tradition that has decorated this region's walls and fountains for centuries.
But here's what really makes this trip special: You'll learn the Sevillanas—a festive partner dance that's been women's social language in this region for generations. Then you'll watch masters bring flamenco to its full, electric life in a performance that's impossible to describe afterward. The footwork, the guitar, the raw emotion in the singer's voice—it all comes together in a way that stays with you.
And Córdoba? Oh, Córdoba. In its 10th-century prime, this city was larger than Paris and London combined—a place where Muslim scholars, Jewish philosophers, and Christian monks worked side by side, creating one of history's most extraordinary experiments in coexistence. The Great Mosque (the Mezquita) is a forest of red-and-white striped arches that tells this complicated, beautiful story in stone.
The sensory experiences on this trip are memorable: walking through the Royal Alcázar's courtyards where queens wielded power (sometimes quietly from the wings), browsing stalls in local markets, tasting jamón ibérico so good it melts before you can reach for a second slice, and wandering Parc Güell, where Gaudí dissolved the line between architecture and nature and covered every surface in mosaic.
"I'm amazed how on each of my NextTribe trips, a bond is created immediately among a dozen women who have joined for a new experience and an adventure. It never feels as if you're on a tour, but instead traveling the world with new friends."
