Get Ready to be Awwwwwed
We give you a taste of our fabulous "playshops" on the Greek Island of Hydra. Join us on March 9th.

News Flash: Conde Nast Traveler just named Hydra one of the Top 3 Greek Islands to visit.
It didn’t take Conde Nast Traveler’s blessing for us to know we were onto something good with our trip to the island of Hydra this coming October. But it does ramp up the excitement. Here’s what the mag said about this enchanted isle:
“Car-free and protected by a preservation order, Hydra has always been the artists' muse of the Greek Islands….[People] come to disconnect and slow down, but also to see and be seen. Wily cats and weary donkeys patrol the back alleys, but all the action happens along the waterfront. Oh look! There's Olivia Palermo at The Pirate Bar and Chloë Sevigny shaking her tail feather at Hydronetta Beach Bar.”
Yum!
Put A Toe In
The other important thing you need to know about Hydra—besides its notable beauty and relaxed throwback vibe—is that we have some exquisite programming for the week, curated by the acclaimed Nomadic School of Wonder.
Wonder is one of the most powerful experiences on the planet. It expands what we imagine to be possible, makes us more empathetic and amplifies our courage and creativity.
Our October 4-11 trip to Greece's unique car-free, historic island of Hydra, Greece is built around these moments of awe, play & creative expression.
You’ll get a taste of what’s in store during the Hydra trip on Sunday, March 9th. In this virtual playshop, come experience your own sense of wonder, play & creativity — with co-hosts Barb Groth of the Nomadic School of Wonder and artist, Lonely Planet writer and Hydra resident Alexis Averbuck.
BONUS: Someone attending this Info Session will win a $400 trip discount in a random drawing.
Star Power: Sophia Loren
”I will never forget Hydra…one of the most beautiful places in the world,” Sophia Loren once said.
She was on the island in the late 50s filming Boy on a Dolphin, her English language debut. As gorgeous as she was on screen, the scenery was more than a match. "You just sit back and let all that scenery and soundtrack music wash over you,” said one critic at the time. “Milton Krasnera’s beautiful color photography of the Greek Isles fills almost every frame with dazzling sunlight, azure seas and sky, and the magnificent architectural scenery that took three thousand years to create.”
Catch some of that scenery in this trailer—or better yet in person in October.
Star Power x 2: Jackie O
Another superstar who loved Hydra was Jackie O. She traveled there frequently during her romance and marriage to Aristotle Onassis. Here a couple of shots of the most famous woman in the world at that time arriving to and strolling around the deliciously authentic island. (No cars = fewer papparazi.)
We’ll get to soak up all the sparkle and serenity that drew Jackie O to Hyrdra. Lucky us!
Hope to see you on the Athens-Hydra ferry.
