Hello all:

Last time I wrote I was on a plane to Havana. Today I’m on a bus to Austin. Not quite as glamorous, for sure, but I’m still excited. I’m on my way to SXSW after spending some time in Fort Worth with my son and his fiance.

Soon, I’ll be heading back to the city and can’t wait to see as many of you as possible.

First, I want to ask you for help. On June 7th-10th, we’ll be hosting our 2nd Annual Downtown NYC Insiders Tour. Last year, our featured speakers at lunch gatherings in NextTribe apartments included Sara Nelson, executive editor of Harper Collins, Kristin Van Ogtrop, literary agent, and Maya Wiley, former MSNBC legal analyst. Many of you came to these lunches and know how fun they are.

This year, I’d like to include some equally high-profile guests for the lunches. Do you have suggestions/connections to someone who other New Yorkers and those attending the tour from out of town would love to talk to? Best-selling author? Actress? Reality TV star? Well-known musician? Entrepreneur with a recognizable brand? Please let me know. I need “tribe mind” at work here.

Sunday March 17th

NextTriber Olga Viakhireva has put together an afternoon with the perfumer Sue Phillips (we love it when NextTribers organize fun events). Phillips will be talking about the many facets of scent and how she blends to create the most evocative fragrances. You’ll also have a chance to create your own signature perfume.

The ticket price is $65 (our cost) and you can put that amount toward creating your own fragrance.

Sunday, April 7th

I’ll be in NYC that weekend and can’t wait to see you at a Sunday Salon at Lesley Dormen’s beautiful West Village apartment. We’ll be talking to Sari Botton, author and publisher of the magazine Oldster, about age and how we perceive it.

Glamping Anyone?

As part of our Downtown NYC Insider Tour, we’re offering visitors a chance to go glamping with us on on Governor’s Island on Monday June 10th. But this isn’t JUST for visitors. New Yorkers are welcome to join us that night as well.
