During this peak summer season, when Asheville remains relatively cool, Jeannie Ralston has been spending her non-travel time exploring her home region. She’s visited gorgeous small mountain towns outside of Asheville proper (Barnardsville, Weaverville, Blowing Rock, for example).
Last weekend, attended a “yard concert” behind a neighbor’s home. She was thrilled to meet more Asheville people and to see a fabulous all-women band called The Marshgrass Mamas, which hails from Charleston, SC. It was a little slice of heaven, she says, only steps from her home.
Jeannie Edmunds is in Oaxaca with a great group of NextTribers. She loved the mole cooking class with Dora in the Sierra Norte Mountains this week. But she says she wasn’t the best student. Her assessment of her skills: “The tortilla I made looks more like an experimental art piece!”
(If you are as fascinated by Mexico as the Jeannies are, check out your last chance to sign up for our Dia de los Muertos festival in San Miguel de Allende.)

What Do YOU Think?
Last week we asked a similar question, but one smart woman responded that she'd like to do both in the same trip. Hmmmm. Now we're considering it for next March--a 5 night, 6 day tour of the historic South, in bloom.
Which Southern city would you like to visit next Spring?
Happy days and safe travels—

The only NextTribe trip with openings until November:
What one of our travelers said about last year’s trip:
"This beautiful city came to life for the Dia de los Muertos celebration. The culture, the Mexican people, the fantastic food and places we visited combined to provide a truly unique experience. Best of all our leader and the wonderful women in our group came together to fill the days with fun and laughter and the true joy of connection. NextTribe travel provides exactly the kind soul nurturing enrichment I seek when I visit a new place."

The Best of Spain: Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba
In Spain, this is how we roll: In the footsteps of Gaudí and the women who shaped a city. With saffron-gold paella at our table and fresh clay for azulejo tiles at our fingertips. And the vibrations of a flamenco show strumming through our bodies.
Barcelona and Andalusia move at two different speeds. Barcelona runs on ambition — Gaudí's spires, a medieval quarter thick with stories, a food scene fiercely proud of its Catalan roots. What rarely gets told: women shaped its art, politics, and culture. This trip puts those stories front and center.
Head south and the tempo drops. Seville is sun, orange trees, and courtyards wrapped in tile. Córdoba holds three civilizations in its stone and rewards travelers who slow down. Together, they're a Spain that goes far past the postcard.
