Entries are trickling into our travel photo contest. That means you don’t have a lot of competition, so don’t be shy! We’re getting submissions by the dozens, but we know there are hundreds of great photos out there. Deadline to submit is May 15.
You could win $2,000 off a trip, or $1,000 cash.
We’re looking for travel photos from anywhere you’ve traveled (not necessarily with NextTribe) that capture a sense of wonder.
And your friends are eligible too, so spread the word. You don’t have to be a NextTribe member to enter the contest, but you do have to be a woman 45+.
And now, over to Asheville, where there’s gonna be a big, beautiful wedding next week!

It’s T minus 9 days to Jeannie Ralston’s wedding. But she hasn’t turned into a Bridezilla—at least not yet. Before all the frills and fuss, there are future trips to plan…and houses to paint. What could be more romantic than sharing a bucket of Native Henna green latex with your intended? Well, hopefully a lot.

Jeannie Edmunds is back in Austin, showing everyone her booby pictures. It’s amazing how close we could get to these exotic birds (the blue footed booby) in the Galapagos!
Enjoy the reads!
This Week’s Reads
And from the archives, the opposite of last week’s story—and a nod to Jeannie Ralston’s betrothed: Are younger husbands really worth it?

Jeannie Ralston says, ”I am always learning from other women on trips. In Ecuador and the Galapagos, I envied the daypack that Melanie Webber carried. Here’s why Melanie says it’s so perfect:
`It is lightweight but sturdy, compacting easily into the size of my hand for packing and yet expanding into a decent-sized daypack. It is water resistant, has great side pockets for water bottles, two zipper compartments and could be as small or as large as needed. It fit every one of our excursions, from Amazon hikes to Galapagos water landings.’”
