Age Boldly: The Trip That Got Away

When something always prevents you from that dream trip.

Greetings!

Right now, somewhere up above Arkansas, Jeannie Ralston is sitting on a plane, excited to be returning to Austin for the first time since February. She’ll spend a week visiting pals and favorite places before heading off to Mexico for our Grand Dia de los Muertos celebration.

She’s just coming off a niece’s wedding last weekend—where fun and family were the order of the day. Next up on the slate of Ralston family weddings—her own!! Woohoo!

Judi, mom of the bride, far left. Jeannette, mom of us all, center.

This week, it’s Jeannie Edmunds’s turn to attend a family wedding. She’s in Richmond, Virginia, after returning from our trip to Hydra, Greece. The island, the people, and the food captured her heart. All those yacht owners parked in the harbor set the bar high for great food and high-quality shopping, but it’s the quality of the light, the local artists and musicians, and the relaxation of being away from cars for a week that made this trip so special.

Were already working on the 2026 trip here, but she can’t wait so she’s coming back in March on her own!

Happy travels—

FEATURED FIND

Jeannie Ralston says, I love a barn jacket, especially one with ample pockets. Such a relaxed but crisp look. This one from Lands End has great styling with a bonus: It's reversible. Reversability ALWAYS makes a piece of clothing ideal for travel."
