This week, Jeannie Ralston is feeling very grateful that her youngest son (a wildland firefighter) made it back safely from a huge blaze in Utah. And for all the people who put themselves in danger to protect life and homes during this terrible fire season.

Jeannie Edmunds’ daughter just moved to Austin yesterday for 6 months, maybe longer. She’s a singer/songwriter/fire dancer/clothing designer-vendor on Instagram, and an all-around free spirit. Earlier this week Jeannie texted her the photo below and we’re sure many parents of artistic young adults can relate!

Marcy’s house is becoming the way station for everyone traveling through Wyoming!

Our finance wizard Dana Mitchell is continuing her quest to climb the highest peaks in the West in preparation for our trip to Nepal. She spent the night at Marcy Mitchell’s (no relation!), and they were joined by a new NextTribe partner, Kristina Schmidt. Kristine is developing our Enrichment Guides that we’re starting to roll out with our Turkey trip this year.

Dana and Marcy climbed a peak together in Wyoming and Jeannie R. says she’s inspired. Epic Himalayas hikes (with all female sherpas) coming up!

This Week’s Reads
Building and keeping a healthy network of friends is important at any age, but particularly now. Like Najwa, the author of this article from the archives made a lot of new friends quickly. Here’s how she did it:

Oh one more thing. We’re looking at creating domestic trip options for 2027 and are trying to decide which southern city to include (we’ve done both before).
Which city would you be more interested in visiting with NextTribe in spring 2027?
Happy days and safe travels—

Booking Deadlines Coming Up
One of the most meaningful NextTribe trips I’ve ever taken was the to Day of the Dead festival in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I had been having a hard time knowing how to grieve for the two Mauras in my life, my daughter Maura Rose and my mother Maura Brigid. Seeing and experiencing the way the people in Mexico celebrate the lives of their dearly departed loved ones was profoundly moving to me.
I highly encourage everyone to consider this transformational experience with an intimate group of NextTribe friends.

The Best of Spain: Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba
In Spain, this is how we roll: In the footsteps of Gaudí and the women who shaped a city. With saffron-gold paella at our table and fresh clay for azulejo tiles at our fingertips. And the vibrations of a flamenco show strumming through our bodies.
Barcelona and Andalusia move at two different speeds. Barcelona runs on ambition — Gaudí's spires, a medieval quarter thick with stories, a food scene fiercely proud of its Catalan roots. What rarely gets told: women shaped its art, politics, and culture. This trip puts those stories front and center.
Head south and the tempo drops. Seville is sun, orange trees, and courtyards wrapped in tile. Córdoba holds three civilizations in its stone and rewards travelers who slow down. Together, they're a Spain that goes far past the postcard.
