Happy August!

This week while the Jeannies are enjoying the last of their downtime, several members of our NextTribe team are traveling!

Marcellina Kampa, who’s in charge of our “in-real-life” member communities, is in Ireland this week for a family reunion. She says, “I conquered one of my lifelong fears: singing in public. Here I am, in a very old thatched roof pub in Ireland, singing Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” with local musicians.” The photo is a little blurry, but you get the idea. We can’t wait for the video! “I told the two women about NextTribe and our “Age Boldly” mantra,” she says. They were very encouraging.”

Dana Mitchell, our head of finance, is gassing up before leaving tomorrow on an epic 2-month road trip from Austin to the west coast. She’ll stop along the way to climb the highest peaks she can find in preparation for our trip to Nepal in November. (Still a couple of spots open if you want to come) She’ll travel through Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon and Washington, connecting with old friends and meeting new ones. She’s “embracing my new-found freedom after my recent divorce. It’s time to explore the world,” she says.

Brenda Lyon traveled from her home in Sun Valley, Idaho to Denver to help her daughter with a move today. She grabbed a quick selfie for us in the middle of packing boxes. Bren also stopped over in Wyoming to visit Marcy Mitchell (together they’re our whole travel department!) but there’s no evidence of that so you’ll just have to trust us. They’re both going on the Himalayas trip that Jeannie Ralston is leading, so it will be a ghost town around here in early November!

It’s always nice when members of a virtual team get to connect in person. One of these day’s we’ll all be in the same city at the same time!
