Well hello there!
We are happy to announce that the judges have sent us their selections for the winners of our travel photo contest.
You can scroll down to read the article and see the photos.
In the past few months, Jeannie Ralston had the pleasure of looking at over 300 photos NextTribers have taken around the world—from 36 states, 51 countries, and all 7 continents—and entered into our Travel Photo Contest. “We certainly have a lot of talented photographers among us and intrepid travelers, too. Greenland, Antarctica, Syria, Ghana, Tibet were among the destinations represented,” she says.
Alas, not everyone could win. We asked three women who have long been acclaimed for their discerning eyes to pick the best of our entries. Read about their credentials here and you too will be impressed. Alyssa Ortega Coppelman, Elizabeth Krist and Akili-Casundria Ramsess have made their picks for first, second and third place, plus 3 honorable mentions.
Thanks to our judges for their time and careful consideration, and to all of you who entered. We know it takes courage to put your work out there for judging and you should applaud yourself for taking that step. We hope it encourages you to step out of your comfort zone a little more often—who knows what you’ll find?
And congratulations to the winners. “I think they will tell you that taking a small risk like this can be very rewarding. And even if you didn’t take home a prize this year, stay tuned because we’ll offer another photo contest next spring, with a different theme but the same opportunity to strut your stuff,” says Jeannie.
Jeannie Edmunds is spending this month catching up with friends and former work colleagues. Today she had lunch with Keri Waters, who is a former client of hers, and was the CEO of a video game company called Million on Mars. Keri had read Jeannie’s memoir back in 2019 and hired her to edit a sci fi novel (!!) Keri wrote to accompany the game. Unfortunately the game company went out of business, the novel was never published, and Keri has moved on. Her new book, "More Energy, Clean Planet” shows how the climate crisis might accidentally be solved by the energy buildout in…wait for it…data centers!
Enjoy the reads!
