Happy Almost Daylight Savings Time!
Don’t forget to change your clocks Saturday night. We’re looking forward to more hours of daylight. How about you?
Hey, have you entered our travel photo contest yet?
You could win $2,000 off a trip, or $1,000 cash.
But if you don’t enter, you’ve got no chance of winning. Just sayin’.

Time to go through all of your travel photos and send us your best shots.
We’re looking for travel photos from anywhere you’ve traveled (not necessarily with NextTribe) that capture a sense of wonder.
And your friends are eligible too, so spread the word. You don’t have to be a NextTribe member to enter the contest.
The judges are high-profile photo women—two from National Geographic, one a Pulitzer Prize winner. Who knows? Maybe it will launch you into a whole new career!
Check out all the details here. Deadline to submit is May 15.
And now, down to South America, where Jeannie Ralston is exploring the Amazon and the Andes, on her way to the Galapagos.

High above the rainforest canopy--108 feet high. The best perch to see jungle wildlife.
Everyone knows about the Galapagos in Ecuador, but Jeannie Ralston doesn’t think people realize there is much more adventure in this country than the famous archipelago. She’s in a swank lodge in the Amazon right now with a group of travelers. Everyone is wowed by all they’re seeing and doing—nighttime canoe paddles through the lagoons, spotting howler monkeys and sloths from towers high above the canopy, learning how to make chocolate the way indigenous rainforest people do it. “Every moment feels like an adventure,” she says. “The wildness of the jungle is balanced by the highly civilized accommodations and dining.” And there are still many more days of exploring and excitement ahead. (Don’t miss the little sleep gadget one of our travelers showed her…scroll to the bottom of the newsletter.)

Today’s gathering was at a new boutique hotel on a historic property in Austin know for its wildlife: a “party of peahens.” Yes, that’s what you call groups of peacocks. No wonder our members felt right at home!
Jeannie Edmunds chatted up Austin NextTribers at our coffee this morning before heading to Quito for the weekend to catch up with Ralston’s travelers for the Galapagos portion of the Ecuador trip. She’s taking the one spot left on the private yacht NextTribe secured for a 4-day journey through the islands. This Jeannie is using points from her personal Sapphire Reserve card with its “painfully high annual fee, but great perks,” she says. “I knew I’d use those points eventually”

Look What Jeannie Ralston Found in Ecuador!
Tiny White Noise Machine
Jeannie Ralston says, "My roommate in Ecuador brought along this small white noise machine and it's been a dream. It relaxes both of us and sets the perfect backdrop for sleep. We don't hear each other get up in the middle of the night and if she snores or talks in her sleep, I have no idea."
