Age Boldly: Is Travel a Pain in the Back? Read This.

Plus, we're releasing 2 trips today--Ireland next May and Savannah in March.

Greetings!

Jeannie Ralston returned home from her trip to Iceland and Portugal in time for an outing with NextTribe members in Asheville. They foraged in the woods for mushrooms and other goodies—then dined on their finds at one of the city’s best restaurants. This little adventure is one of the most popular things we do on our NextTribe trips to Asheville (one coming up in April—stay tuned). But a lot of locals hadn’t done it, so we fixed that. One NextTribe member drove over from Charlotte for the fun. What a lovely day to be outside in nature, followed by such a sophisticated dinner, knowing that we helped.

The tale of two tables. With our foraging finds—left—and after a beautiful dinner made with what we gathered that morning.

Jeannie Edmunds took a break last night to indulge in an elaborate sound bath in the art gallery at the Austin Public Library. She blissed out to the sounds of singing bowls, flutes, hand drums, feathers, and other shamanic instruments with two other local NextTribers.

Jeannie’s always in her happy place with NextTribe members and travelers. Pictured here with Karen Kreps (her roommate on the Africa trip this year) and Cathryn Wood (who was in Troncones, Mexico with her three years ago).

FEATURED FIND

Jeannie Ralston says, “I came across these shoes when creating a Packing List for our travelers heading to Greece. They’re ingenious—a combination of water shoe AND light hiking shoe. And they look good enough to wear while seeing the sights around town. The key to packing well is to find items that are really versatile. Since shoes are such a bulky item, you especially want them to do double (or even triple) duty.”

Just Released

This specially curated itinerary includes a visit to a home of a NextTriber for an author’s lunch, plus many more insider treats. Ellesor Holder, our popular Charleston trip leader, will be moving a few miles down the road to take you through another historic Southern city.

On last year’s trip to Ireland, we met a fascinating writer with a deep knowledge of Celtic mythology and the role of women in Irish history. She’ll be our guide, plus beloved NextTriber and hibernophile (look it up) Joy Mills will be the trip leader.
