Hi there,
Last week the article from our archives on snoring elicited this response from a NextTribe traveler and member who lives in Hawaii:
Thanks for the snoring article! Very interesting and clear description. I was very concerned when I went on my NY trip that I would disturb my roommate! I wore a mouthgard which helped but I have been concerned that it could be sleep apnea and maybe should get tested! - Wendy Goodman
We love it when we hear from you about what we’re publishing. It helps to know we’re not just sitting here typing words into the void!
Jeannie Ralston is still recovering from a super-active weekend with her long-time friend and NextTribe trip leader Ellesor Holder. There’s no better place to spend 4th of July weekend than at Ellesor’s lake house—riding jet skis, watching fireworks from a pontoon boat, lounging on a dock.
Anyone who has traveled with Ellesor knows she’s a warm and welcoming hoot (and the friend who keeps me young, as I’ve written about here). If you haven’t traveled with Ellesor, you’ll get a chance in 2027 when she leads another trip to Savannah in March (trip sign up to be opened this summer) and also Croatia, which will be released to Lifetime Members tomorrow and to Members a week from tomorrow.
Jeannie Edmunds hosted a Happy Hour for local NextTribe members at the woman-owned wine bar Trellis in Denver last night. Today and tomorrow she's spending time in Boulder with two college friends she hasn't seen in AHEM 50 years!!
Enjoy the reads! Including the latest installment of a series on goddesses around the world, written by our wonderful and extremely knowledgeable guide in Ireland, Maria O’Loughlin. Here’s her story on Irish goddesses.
This Week’s Reads
And from the archives, a story about a modern woman who, like so many Greek goddesses, has no time for men.

Our Most Popular Trip…For a Reason
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is Conde Nast Traveler's #1 Travel Destination in the World and a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site. The vibrant colonial architecture and cobblestone streets create an enchanting atmosphere—the perfect setting for discovering rich Mexican culture and exploring the shops, sites, and restaurants that are uniquely San Miguel.
The trip takes place during Mexico's Day of the Dead festival, which can truly change your perspective on mortality. Day of the Dead is a lively, life-affirming holiday when Mexicans make ofrendas to commemorate loved ones who have passed and visit cemeteries to sing to and party with those dear but departed.
We make our own offering at the hotel and spend time discussing our loved ones who have passed. It's moving and cathartic—and, we’ve found, something our travelers truly appreciate at this time in their lives.

A Spectacle of Fire and Ice
For all its raw, elemental beauty, Iceland also offers refined Nordic sophistication—world-class restaurants, striking architecture, cutting-edge art, and excellent shopping. It's a place of wonderful contradictions: wild yet welcoming, remote yet remarkably progressive (hello, most gender-equal country in the world).
