Age Boldly: 6 Reasons Travel is Good for Your Health

Plus, a New Year's quiz to help you break out of your travel rut in 2025.

Happy New Year, you bold, brave and boundless women!

Jeannie Ralston is just back from her place in downtown New York City, where she spent that foggy week between Christmas and New Year’s (what day is it anyhow?) with her sons and future daughter in law. Now she’s concentrating on packing for Morocco—she promised the other women on the trip to make a video of what she’s bringing and now is sorta regretting that.

Jeannie Edmunds joined hundreds of Austin neighbors at Barton Springs for the Polar Bear Plunge January 1st. Sunny, windy, temps in the low 50s. She’s a hot weather girl, so she always has to psych herself up before getting into cold water, but she’s one of several Austin NextTribers who love swimming in the Springs.

“The hardest part is getting out of the car and walking down the hill. But once I’m in the water, I’m so glad I did it. The water is so clean and feels so healing. It’s like liquid love!”

The water temp is always constant 68-72 degrees year-round, so it wasn’t that bad!

Wherever you are, we hope you’ll join us in welcoming whatever 2025 brings. There’s so much that’s out of our hands. All we can do is try to live our lives to the fullest, be kind, be generous, and be grateful for the small things in life that bring us joy.

We encourage you to connect with other women in our community by becoming a member, and through our small group trips.

We took a break over the holidays, so there are a few more articles to catch up on this week. Whether you travel with us or not, we appreciate you and hope you enjoy these articles from NextTribe Magazine!
